The description for which simply reads “complete the game in Honour mode” – except no mode of that name currently exists in any version of the game. Honour mode’s existence in Baldur’s Gate 3 was first noticed by a group of Reddit sleuths, who took note of a new legendary achievement known as ‘Foehammer’ popping up in the GOG version of Larian Studios’ game. So fans of permadeath modes are in for a treat! The still unannounced difficulty is said to be called Honour mode, and will seemingly challenge players to make it all the way through the main campaign with as many of their party members still alive as possible using just one save file. Wildly successful fantasy RPG – and certified 2023 GOTY contender – Baldur’s Gate 3 may soon receive an all-new difficulty mode on PC and PS5 – similar to the one already present in Larian Studios other fan-favourite title Divinity: Original Sin 2. Only the strongest RPG adventurers will survive in the as yet unannounced Honour mode, which fans believe may be added very soon.
